Cardano, similar to Ethereum is a smart contract platform that began in 2015 as an effort to change the way cryptocurrencies are developed. It claims to be the third generation of blockchain that addresses its previous predecessors three main problems namely scalability, interoperability, and sustainability through a layered architecture.
Instead of the usual white paper where it is directly implemented to codes, Cardano started its conception through embracing a collection of design principles, orchestrating best practices and trying out avenues for exploration. It is the first of its kind to be created from scientific philosophy and built on peer-reviewed academic research. This means that the team of Cardano makes sure that a global team of leading academics and engineers read, review, and have a consensus on any of their outcomes.
