Modified on Sat, 18 Feb 2023 at 08:56 PM

Bitcoin halving is a milestone that happens every 4 years or every 210,000 blocks calculated from 1 block, happens every 10 minutes on average, or is known as the 50% drop in Bitcoins in the system. As a result, the reward per 1 block is halved.

Currently, the reward per block for miners is 12.5 BTC, including the transfer fee of 1 block is almost 13 BTC.

The 3rd Bitcoin halving took place on 12 May 2020.
